Welcome to The Space Between us.
There is you, there is the person you love and then there is the space between you.
That space holds everything you have created together. Your friendship, your attraction, your tenderness, your history, your inside jokes, your disappointments, your sex, your arguments, your rituals, your resentments, your repair, the things you say and the things you have learned not to say. It also holds everything each of you brought with you from long before you met one another, back from when you were learning what relationship meant.
When you were learning what happened when people were angry, whether feelings were welcomed or uncomfortable, whether people stayed close during conflict or disappeared, whether love was freely expressed or something you had to earn, whether your needs mattered, whether touch felt safe, whether independence was celebrated, whether vulnerability brought connection, rejection, ridicule or silence.
And then on one day your world met their world.
This journey is about becoming curious about what happened next after your words collided.
The intention of this course is not so you can figure out who is right or wrong or to diagnose each other and its definitely not so you can become the perfect couple who never gets triggered, argues or disconnects. It is to increase curiosity so you can begin to see yourselves and each other more clearly and potentially be able to begin to highlight the moments that confict or tension can become doorways to deepen intimacy and connection.
Over five modules, you’ll explore your relationship mentally, emotionally and physically.
There will be things to read, questions to sit with privately, things to write, nervous system and body awareness practices, conversations to have together and experiments to take into everyday life. Some of it may feel surprisingly easy and some of it might bring something tender to the surface.
Go slowly, the less you treat this like a course you need to finish and the more you treat each module like a date with your relationship, the more you are likely to discover.
Set aside around 90 minutes for each module where possible.
Put your phones away, make tea, sit somewhere comfortable, go outside if that feels better. You don’t have to make it serious simply because the work really matters and remember that curiosity will take you much further here than certainty.

Pack a picnic. Walk beside each other when talking things through and then return to sitting in the contemplative parts.
Go somewhere new that neither of you have been before.
Take sensory things for nervous system reset moments or grounding. -
Keep in mind that we can ask permission first before reaching to touch each other. In a curious tone you could ask, how would you like to be touched right now? Sometimes it might be a hand on the shoulder or on the middle of the back or the stomach. Sometimes it might be holding the face. Sometimes touch isn’t needed but its nice to be offered from the right place regardless.

Sometimes speaking or writing in point form can help us to get to the core of the message faster and have the other person understand us better. If you find yourself or your partner over explaining, see if you can bring it back to the point form style together.
